Wire-frame tent with air support
The outer surface of the wire-reinforced air tent is covered with a steel wire mesh, one of whose functions is to transfer the load generated during inflation through the steel wire mesh to the concrete foundation.
The steel wire mesh also ensures the tent’s stability and secures the layers in place. In the case of wire-framed tents, the following layers are placed beneath the steel mesh:
- a 120-micron-thick, UV-stable protective film,
- a 240-micron-thick, three-layer, UV-stable, air-cushioned PE film with a 3-mm cell height
- and, on the innermost layer, a tarpaulin treated with a fungicide additive, coated with PVC, and finished with a stain-resistant varnish layer
Due to the honeycomb-like design of the wire-framed, air-supported tent, there is no echo effect within the space. By replacing the outer protective film, the shell structure can be made to look as good as new for several years.
